District 9127 Prepares For 2026-2027 Year With Week-Long Learning.
In a remarkable display of unity, commitment and learning, District 9127 of the Rotary Club hosted a five-day learning program for incoming officials of the district with yesterday, February 13, 2026 marking the end of a series of seminars designed to equip attendees with the skills, insights and vision needed for the upcoming Rotary year.
The program, which ran from Monday through Friday, brought together Rotarians from across the district for five days of intensive training, dialogue and networking. Participants engaged in a variety of sessions covering leadership, service delivery and community engagement and the practical application of Rotary guiding principles.
At the closing ceremony, Rotarian Sikiru Adetono Owonikoko, the incoming district governor, reflected on the significance of the program and expressed a heartfelt appreciation to the participants. “As we look back on those enriching and inspiring days, our hearts are filled with deep gratitude for your full attendance, your commitment and the powerful sense of unity you demonstrated”, he said.
Rotarian Owonikoko further emphasised that leadership extends beyond titles. “You have shown that leadership is not merely about position, but about responsibility, sacrifice and vision. By showing up wholeheartedly, you have proven that the Rotary year 2026-2027 is already positioned for excellence”.
The sessions were facilitated by a cadre of seasoned Rotarians, including past district governors and some top members of staff of Rotary International, ensuring that the content was both practical and informed by years of service.
Participants described the learning program as deeply transformative. Many highlighted the opportunities to network, exchange ideas and gain new perspectives on leadership and community service. For some, the various sessions offered a fresh reminder of the core values of Rotary, service above self, integrity and commitment to positive impacts.
It was a powerful week, said one in-coming President. “We weren’t just learning techniques or strategies, we were reminded of why we serve and how much stronger we are when we work together”.
Beyond the formal sessions, the program fostered a strong sense of community among members. Breakout sessions, group exercises, scenario-based discussions and peer-to-peer talk sessions encouraged collaboration and creativity, reinforcing the idea that Rotary is more than an organization. It is a movement built on shared vision and collective action.
As District 9127 prepares to step into the 2026-2027 Rotary year, the lessons, insights, and connections gained during the learning program are expected to translate into more effective service projects, stronger leadership, and deeper engagements with communities across the district. The week-long program not only equipped in-coming officials with tools for success, but also reignited the spirit of service that has always defined Rotary. With the stage now set for a year of meaningful impact, District 9127 is inspired, united, and ready to turn vision into action.
